General Terms
Service description
BlinkBeam SQL Academy provides educational content, cohort-based courses, clinics, and community moderation around SQL performance topics. Deliverables are knowledge transfer and facilitated exercises, not guaranteed business outcomes. Access is granted under the membership tier or enrollment path described in written quotes (informational amounts only on this static site).
Liability
To the extent permitted under Republic of Korea law and other applicable jurisdictions, liability for indirect or consequential damages is limited. We are not responsible for production incidents arising from advice you adapt without your own verification. Nothing in forum posts constitutes professional services unless contracted separately in writing.
Acceptance
By creating an account or participating in live sessions, you accept these terms and linked policies. If you use the site on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to reasonable use restrictions, including confidentiality of shared traces.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea without regard to conflict-of-law rules that would cause another body of law to apply. Mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence remain unaffected where they cannot be waived.
User obligations
You agree not to harass members, not to post secrets from employers without permission, and not to attempt to disrupt sessions or scraping infrastructure at rates that degrade service. Automated crawling that mimics human posting is prohibited. You must keep credentials confidential and notify us if you suspect compromise.
Intellectual property
Curriculum materials, branding, and recorded instructor explanations remain BlinkBeam property. You receive a limited license to download copies explicitly offered for offline use. You retain rights to your own forum text but grant us a license to host and display it within the community surfaces.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts for repeated code-of-conduct violations or security risk. You may terminate by closing your account; some posts may remain anonymized rather than deleted where they are embedded in others’ learning artifacts. Provisions that naturally survive termination (liability limits, IP, dispute resolution) continue in effect.
Dispute resolution
Parties will first attempt good-faith negotiation via contact@blinkbeam.one. If negotiation fails, disputes may be brought in courts located in Seoul, except where consumer law requires a different venue. Class arbitration waivers that are unenforceable in your jurisdiction will not apply to you.
Cookie Notice
Preferences
Preference cookies remember choices such as theme softness, collapsed navigation states, and cookie consent itself. They are first-party and scoped to blinkbeam.one. You can clear them through browser controls; the site may re-prompt for consent where legally required.
Consent
Where analytics cookies are used, they require opt-in through the storage preferences control. Rejecting optional cookies does not remove essential cookies needed for security or load balancing. Consent records are stored with a timestamp and coarse region to demonstrate accountability.
Categories
We group cookies into essential, functional, and analytics. Essential cookies include session integrity tokens. Functional cookies improve UX such as remembering that you dismissed a coach tip. Analytics cookies, when enabled, help us understand which documentation sections are confusing—never tied to salary or HR systems.
Contact
Questions about cookies can be sent to contact@blinkbeam.one with subject “Cookie inquiry”. We will explain any unfamiliar names appearing in your browser’s inspector and whether they belong to us or to an embedded subprocessor.
What are cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. They can be session-based (deleted when the browser closes) or persistent (expire on a set date). Similar technologies include localStorage entries for lightweight UI state; we treat them with the same transparency principles.
Third parties
Embedded video or conferencing widgets may set their own cookies when you click to activate them. We defer to those vendors’ policies for data they collect at that moment. We minimize embeds on public marketing pages to reduce unexpected tracking.
Cookie retention
Essential session cookies expire within twenty-four hours of inactivity unless you choose “remember me” on supported flows. Analytics identifiers, if allowed, rotate quarterly. You can withdraw analytics consent at any time; withdrawal applies prospectively and may take one session to propagate.
Changes to this notice
When we add a new analytics partner or materially change retention, we update this notice and refresh prompts for active members. Archived versions are available on request for compliance reviewers.
Returns & Refunds
Refund process
Refund requests for eligible programs should email contact@blinkbeam.one with your full name, cohort name, and reason. We confirm eligibility against attendance records and download logs where applicable. Approved refunds are initiated to the original method when technically possible.
Contact
Use the same contact channel for status questions. Please allow several business days for processing spikes around cohort starts. Korean Consumer Act considerations may grant additional rights to certain consumers—those rights are summarized in the consumer section below.
Timeframe
Digital access products may allow a fourteen-day reconsideration window when no substantial live session has been consumed, unless an exception applies. After the window or after consuming core live hours, partial refunds may still be offered as goodwill but are not guaranteed.
Exceptions
Custom enterprise workshops with signed statements of work follow the cancellation clauses in those documents instead of this generic page. Donation-subsidized seats may be non-refundable to preserve fairness to sponsors. Abuse-related terminations are not eligible for refund.
Eligibility
Eligibility depends on the product path you selected, your region, and whether materials were personalized for your team. We may request proof of enrollment references without asking for full account numbers on email.
Scope
This policy covers tuition-style offerings described on blinkbeam.one. Third-party exam vouchers or external certifications sold as bundles may follow vendor-specific return rules communicated when you select that bundle.
Consumer rights in Korea
Residents of the Republic of Korea may have rights under the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce and other statutes. Nothing here reduces those protections. Where this English summary conflicts with authoritative Korean disclosures provided at enrollment, the Korean disclosure prevails for Korean consumers.
Issuer reversals
Initiating a reversal request while an eligibility review is pending may slow resolution. We cooperate with processing partners when they are involved and will provide evidence of service delivery where appropriate. Good-faith disputes through our contact channel are always preferable to unilateral reversal requests.
